The bee suit is a necessary tool when pursuing beekeeping. Beekeeping can be anything from a hobby that you are passionate about, all the way up to a lucrative business venture. Its fun to do, and who doesn't like honey? Some people start this out as just a hobby, but then turn it into a business when they see the opportunities available.
Thankfully, most bee stings result from not wearing the bee suit properly, or not wearing a bee suit at all.
If you are interested in a beekeeping business or hobby, you shouldn't let fear of being stung hinder you. Certain solutions can be put in place to safe guard against bee stings and the bee suit and bee smoke are the two most effective.
The best and most effective defense that can help in reducing the dangers that bee stings might cause is by having a bee suit.
Stings can be very painful and no matter how much you may try and avoid them, if you are in beekeeping for either business or hobby, you will eventually at some point be stung. In beekeeping there are many instances where you need to open the hives of your bees to either reset the hive, collect honey, or even relocate the hive.
Bees naturally believe they are being attacked during these activities, and will try to defend their hive.
This is the biggest reason you need to own and wear a quality bee suit. Darker colors can aggravate bees more than light colors so bee suits are usually made in white material. This is not only good to help prevent the bees from attacking you, but when there are thousands of bees flying around you it will help keep you cooler!
A good quality bee suit will include a hood unit and gloves. Good head gear and gloves protect the most sensitive parts of yours body. A good quality bee suit will have proper ventilation and allows you to move freely and comfortably.
